How to determine my size

Our standard sizes are based on UK and US sizing and range between 6-20 and US 2-16 respectively. Our standard size chart details all the relevant measurements guiding our standard sizes, as well as the hem length indication.

Services like additional seam allowances give our brides that extra security when placing an online order, so that alterations will always be a smooth process if they are required.

Our split size order option allows our brides to order a gown that will require minimal alteration, while our 3 hem length options cater to brides of all heights at no extra cost to the bride. We offer a split size service should your bust, waist and hip measurements fall under different size brackets. Please indicate a standard size according to our sizing chart for your bust, waist & hips, for example: Bust 6 USA; Waist 8 USA; Hips 12 USA.

Taking your measurements

We work on the following parameters:

Bust – Bust circumference around the nipple line. Circumference line must be parallel to the floor
Waist – Use a ribbon and tie it around the narrowest part of the waist
Hips – Widest circumference around the hips, approximately 20cm below the waist (average). Must go around the prominent part of the buttocks
Vertical Shoulder To Waist – measure the length from the mid shoulder seam to the waist via the nipple, following the curve under the breast to the ribcage and down to the waist
Waist To Floor With Shoes – Measured on the front of the body

Please note: Professional alterations may be required on the finished garment in order to ensure a perfect fit, regardless of the size selected. Sufficient time should be allowed for this. Please allow up to 2cm production tolerance on sizing – production tolerance means that the dress will measure within plus/minus 2cm of the standard size selected from the size chart.

Production timeframe

Our standard production lead time is 3 months from date of payment, however we offer rush options at an additional cost if you require your gown sooner!

All our full crepe and full tulle gowns are available for rush orders without prior confirmation from our team. Gowns containing lace fabrics will require a prior confirmation from our studio – please send us an enquiry via our online chat function or email [email protected] to check if we can accommodate a rush on this gown.

Shipping information

Shipping fees are included in a standard order – we exclusively use DHL Express to courier your gown to your door at minimal shipping timeframe. Global shipments average between two business days and two weeks.

Your shipping details are completed once you have selected your gown & have proceeded to the checkout. Upon completion of your order within the selected timeframe, you will be emailed your waybill information once your gown has been dispatched.

Once your gown is dispatched, the logistics timeframe is out of our hands and depends on the courier and other logistical factors that may apply, such as customs clearances and various global logistics circumstances.

Shipments are subject to custom clearance in your country & any import duties or taxes are for your account and depend on your local government regulations. Please note that we cannot be held accountable for custom clearance delays or any other delays due to incorrect shipping information provided to us by the customer.

Customisations

All LUPA garments are made in our studio, which allows us the flexibility of offering our clients customisations and changes to original patterns. Changes such as swapping out lining colors, raise or lower necklines, add/remove sleeves, combine top and skirt styles from different gowns, extend or shorten a train are all possible. The LUPA design team will affect custom requests to the best possible design solution and the customer understands that their discretion will be used where necessary. Return policy

All LUPA garments are handmade to order and are therefore not eligible for exchange or return for any reason, other than in the unlikely event of there being a major fault with the garment. If you feel that there is a major fault with your garment, please send us an email with the details of your concern, along with photos of the fault within 7 days of receipt from courier. Kindly note that return shipping is at the expense of the customer, unless the item received is deemed faulty upon its return and inspection to the LUPA studio, in which case LUPA Bridal Atelier will issue the buyer with a refund via bank transfer. The garment needs to be returned in an unworn condition and will be inspected upon return, after which you will receive feedback from the LUPA team on the status of your query.

Terms & conditions

The customer understands that all sales are final. No cancellations, refunds or exchanges are possible after the order is processed, as each garment is handmade to order. The customer acknowledges that they have read and understood the LUPA size chart, and that it is their responsibility to take their measurements correctly to determine the accurate size required according to the size chart. The customer acknowledges that when customizations are requested, the LUPA design team will make the requested pattern changes to the best possible design solution and the customer understands that their discretion will be used where necessary.

The customer acknowledges that professional alterations will be required on the finished garment, regardless of the extent of measurements supplied to LUPA. The customer should allow sufficient time for these alterations. A 2cm production tolerance on sizing is standard – production tolerance means that the garment will measure within plus/minus 2cm of the parameters on the standard size chart.

The customer acknowledges that it is their responsibility to provide LUPA with the correct contact & shipping information and that LUPA is not responsible for any delays due to incorrect information being supplied. If you have entered the incorrect details upon checkout, please email us immediately on [email protected]. Once garments are dispatched with courier, LUPA cannot be held accountable for delays that occur in transit and/or customs, and it is the responsibility of the client to take out insurance if they wish.

LUPA garments are made by hand for each bride, and although we will always observe the virtue of the design – minor variations in the garments as well as color variances are therefore normal. Bridal fabrics are particularly susceptible to minor snags, such as pulls and micro dust, therefore minor snags will not be considered a fault. It is normal for there to be slight imperfections and inconsistencies in these fabrics and we cannot be held liable for minor faults or flaws that are considered normal in hand made garments.
